ABOUT
ABOUT ME
Hayley is a Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist who offers play based therapy for children and young people from aged 5 and talking therapy for adults. She works with primary schools, charities, statutory organisations and in private practice. She qualified in 2013.
Hayley trained as a primary school teacher in 2001 and worked in education for many years, prior to this she was a support worker for young people with disabilities in a specialist residential setting.
She has over 25 years’ experience of working with children, adolescents and families across different settings in primary, secondary and post 16 phases. She draws on this work in her practice everyday.
In addition to her core therapy training, Hayley has a Post Qualifying Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People, an MSc in Psychology and is an Associate Lecturer in Child Development and Education at a U.K. university
EXPERIENCE
Hayley has worked with children and adults experiencing a very wide range of issues, including bullying, anxiety, friendship issues, sexual abuse, self-esteem, family breakdown, domestic violence, carer responsibilities, bereavement, trauma, loss, living with chronic illness and late diagnosis of neurodiversity.
She has worked in primary schools, for a national mental health charity with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, with young women experiencing difficulties around gynaecological conditions and for a national charity supporting parent carers. She has volunteered and worked with charities such as Place2be, MIND, Endometriosis UK and the National Autistic Society.
She has additional understanding of supporting neurodiverse adults and children, and children with developmental difficulties through both professional training and lived experience.
